Be better or become someone better...

I think the main reason why someone would like to be someone else would be the same as everyone would feel. Deep down we always see in others characteristics that we want for ourselves, it can be better social skills, such as being more outgoing and charismatic. Better skills in some field related to academics, such as in mathematics or in languages. Better skills in the aesthetic, such as having a marked body or a beautiful figure, even being taller... You name it, but the fact is that we are not and never will be able to be all the good things that we want to be.

However, this does not mean that we cannot learn new things and improve skills that we already have, we are limited edition, each with our advantages and disadvantages in different fields. I am not saying that we are unique snowflakes in the world. I do not believe much in that; I think we are quite average talking about what covers the great history of humanity.

Have you ever wondered why the great minds of history are called that way ... partly it is clear that it is because of the great or great ideas they had and because of their contribution to humanity, but the mistake that the media make in general it is to introduce ourselves to those geniuses as people who had an idea or created a work as a simple inspiration, an idea so wonderful that it came to them from night to morning and then all the sudden, next thing you know is that you had in front of you the Mona Lisa.

The real reason that these minds are remembered by history is the story behind that idea, obviously the idea was great, but what really takes effort is the process. Chuck Close, a photographer and illustrator says, "Inspiration is for amateurs, the rest of us just show up and get to work."

That is why, if I had to be someone else I would not be, I prefer to be myself. Improve my own shortcomings and see how things turn out. After all, what sense it is to be born with all the virtues of the world if you cannot enjoy reaching the goal without have run all those kilometers.

We can all be geniuses at our own way, but it takes the effort to become one.
